JUNE

2nd, 3rd & 4th June 17: Education Fair

TV 9 and CAB consultancy has conducted an Education fair in which 50+ Institutes took part in it. Aurora's PG College (MBA), Punjagutta was represented by Mrs. Jyothi P., Mrs. Shirisha .A and Mr. R. Bhadra Rao.


2nd June 17: State Formation Day

Telangana turned three. The seeds of Telangana struggle were sown in 1995 and struggled till 2013. We Aurora celebrated the Telangana Formation Day by cutting the cake and organized blood donation program.


JULY

4th to 8th July, 2017: Entrepreneurship Educator Program 

Entrepreneurship Education Program was organized by Anurag group in collaboration with Wadwani foundation, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN).  The program provided the firsthand experience to an entrepreneur in initiating and recognizing the fundamentals of Entrepreneurship such as mindset, behavior and skills to inculcate the creativity and have a keen insight in identifying the opportunity to link the customer needs and his startup venture.  Faculty coordinators of Entrepreneurship cell of Aurora P.G. College Punjagutta, Mrs. Renu Bala, Dr. Abhilasha Srivastava and Mrs. Padma Kiran have participated in this educator program,   and shouldered their share of responsibilities to train young enthusiastic Entrepreneurs.   


19th July, 2017: Traffic Awareness Program

A Mega Traffic Awareness Program for college students was platformed at Satya Nigomagam, Srinagar Colony, Hyderbad.
The program was inaugurated by S.S Rajamouli, Film Director and the Hero Allu Arjun.
S.S Rajamouli very profoundly highlights the importance of traffic regulations. He is normally known to Tweet but for the first time he sounded harsh to incorporate the traffic sense in the youth. He appreciated Hero Bunny, for a short film “I am a Change”
We Aurorians understands the road safety is an important education for all ages, on being road from cycling to a four wheeler we need to be abide by the traffic rules to create an Efficient Traffic Environment with learned behavior and with the objective of Risk avoiding to Encompass whole range of pedestrians to vehicle riders, in which our MCA 2nd Year student represented the program.


28th July, 2017:  Varalakshmi Pooja 

On the auspicious day of Varalakshmi Vratahm, the women folk of the college performed the pooja. Highlighting the significance of it and seeking the blessing as on this festival. The goddess Lakshmi, the concert of Lord Vishnu, who grant’s boon in EIGHT forms of Lakshmi that are- Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength. This festival is observed largely by women, invoking the blessing of Lakshmi on them, their husbands and their children.


AUGUST

12th August, 2017: National Library Day

12th August 2017 was celebrated as National Librarian’s Day in India in remembrance of the National Professor of Library Science Dr. S.R. Ragunathan who had spearheaded the Library Development in India.


15th August, 2017: Independence Day

We, at Aurora, celebrated 71st Independence Day to pay tributes and to remember all the freedom fighters who sacrificed everything to attain Independence to Mother India.  We hoisted the National Flag; remembered the mile stones of the struggle and the contribution of youth in uplifting their responsibilities of safe guarding the country.


18th August, 2017: Youth for Anti-Corruption

Anti-Corruption awareness seminar was organized by the Youth for Anti-Corruption (YAC).  Additional Director General of Police V.V. Lakshminarayana began his speech with an introduction of Virus of Corruption and misuse of office, after launching a website- www.Indiayac.com.

Sri V.V. Lakshminarayana insisted on various ways of corruption, The Prevention of Corruption Act, Prevention of Money Laundering Act and Right to Information Act that can be used to effectively generate awareness.


18th August, 2017: Traffic Awareness Program

K. Venkar Reddy, SI, on behalf of the traffic Police Department, addressed the students on traffic rules that have been prepared for the benefits the people including pedestrian, cyclists, drivers.

Traffic rules of the roads are the laws developed to facilitates the orderly and timely flow of traffic. He highlighted on the-

  • Regulation signs
  • Informatory signs
  • Precautionary or Cautionary signs

He presented the PPT on traffic rules, played a video on the disastrous accidents because of not following the traffic rules.


25th August, 2017: Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated by Hindus with great enthusiasm, by installing the idol of Lord Ganesha and worship for eleven days. The idols are immersed in neighboring rivers and ponds after following a colorful and musical procession.  Our students celebrated the festive of Lord Ganesh three days from Avahanam to immersion of Ganesh with the symbol of Wisdom, Prosperity and Good Fortune.


SEPTEMBER

17th September 2017-Teachers’ Day

The second year students celebrated Teacher’s Day in Aurora's PG College (MBA) Punjagutta on 13th September with fun, frolic and exuberance. The students extended personalized invites to all the faculty members and arranged few interesting games during the event and winners were awarded with prizes.the celebration had various performances from the students


11th & 12th September 2017-Orientation Program

Aurora P.G. College, Punjagutta welcomed its new batch of students with two days orientation program on 11 & 12 September, 2017.  The aim of this program was to lay the foundation for new students and acclimatize them with the systems, structure and manners of Aurora P.G. College, Punjagutta.  Day one of the orientation program was dedicated to inaugural session, followed by a brief review about the College by the Director, Dr. B. Mohan Kumar, followed by lecture of Sri. Ramana Murthy.  The second day of orientation program was dedicated to briefing students about the college regulations, Course curriculum, Examination system and varied student activities organized in the college from time to time.

Talent Hunt was conducted by senior students and the freshers showcased their multi talents on the stage.


7th September 2017-Alaap, The Induction Day

ALAAP 2017 was conducted on 7th September for the New Batch MBA & MCA students at RTC Kalabhavan, Baghlingampally.  Dignitaries for the day were:

26th September 2017-Traditional Day

Traditional day is celebrated as a representation of diverse culture of India.  Traditional day was celebrated on September 26th, 2017. All the staff and students were dressed in traditional attire, representing diverse cultures of the country. The event boosted the energy levels of the Aurorians with wonderful sherwanis, colourful sarees, kurtas etc. 
The prize winners of the best attire are MBA II Year Varsha-E-sec and Vijaylaxmi H-section in girls category and Rohit and Narsimhan MBA II Year F Section  among boys.

Special feature of the traditional day was accompanied Bathukamma celebrations and Dandiya.  Bathukamma represents the traditional culture of Telangana. Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers, most of them having medicinal values, in seven concentric layers in the shape of a temple Gopuram.  In Telugu Bathukamma means “Mother Goddess come alive” . Goddess Maha Gauri is worshipped in the form of Bathukamma.  All the faculty, non-teaching staff, students took part in the celebrations with lots of spirituality and enthusiasm. 
MCA I year students were awarded with the first prize for best Bathukamma and MBA II Year H section were awarded with second prize.

Rangoli Competition was organized for the students on the onset of Dusshera season. The creativity
and and zeal of students was worth applaudable . It was refreshing to see the students bring out vibrancy and fervor to the competition.
MCA I year was awarded with first prize and MBA II Year C section was awarded with second prize.


OCTOBER

6th October 2017: Seminar on Higher Education and Prospects

A Seminar on Prospects in Higher Education was conducted in the college on 6th October, 2017. Dr. C. Rajkumar, Vice – Chancellor, O.P. Jindal University, was the Chief Guest addressed the students regarding various opportunities and benefits of Higher education programs. Dr. Ramesh Nimmatoori, Secretary, Aurora Group, Dr. M. Madhavi , Director, Aurora P.G. College, Ramanthapur and Dr. B. Mohan Kumar, Director, Aurora P. G. College, Punjagutta were a part of the event.


7th October 2017: Samaroh

Samaroh, the Mini Convocation for the Aurora’s PG Colleges of Punjagutta, Ramanthapur and Uppal was organized on 7th October, 2017 at Silpa Kala Vedika, Madhapur, Hyderabad. All the passed out students were convocated and Gold medals awarded to Toppers.


11th October 2017: Inauguration of Entrepreneurial Cell

A mile stone, in the history of Aurora P. G. College, Punjagutta, the inauguration of Entrepreneurship Development Cell “Antha Prerna” on 11th October, 2017 to promote the idea of Entrepreneurship amongst the students and to impart in-house training through Industrial visits, in –house-plan, business quiz, guest lectures, seminars etc. Orientation Program was conducted for students by NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network) under Entrepreneurship Development Cell which help in building up the skills needed to startup. Resource Persons Were- 1) Mr. Vikramjeet Mishra- “Wadhwani Foundation”, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and Mr. Vivek Sharma- A Student entrepreneur (The business of Pest Control System named –”Organic Pest”)


13th October 2017: Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was organized on 13 October, 2017 inaugurated by Director-Dr. B. Mohan Kumar, in which he addressed students and informed about the importance & benefits of blood donation. All the donors who came forward and became a part of this noble cause were given certificates.


21st October 2017: Abhideya-The Placement Day

Abhideya-The Placement Meet was organized to felicitate the recruiters who provided placements to the students of Aurora Group of Institutions.  The venue was Global Peace Auditorium, Brahma Kumaris-Shanti Sarovar, Gatchibowli for which Brahma Shri Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma gave a discourse on the duties of people after studenthood and urged them to follow Sanathana Dharma.  The guests along with their family members were felicitated in a fitting manner and were thanked for being a part of the event.


NOVEMBER

8th November 2017: Karthika Deepostavam

The college celebrated the traditional custom of karteeka masam, in the form of Kartika Depotstavam. Students from MBA & MCA participated with huge enthusiasm and showcased their talents and creativity.


14th to 20th November 2017: Library Week Celebrations:

Shri I.V. Ramanayya, who is recognized as the “Architect of Public Library Movement in India” organized an All India Library meeting in the year 1912, on November 12 in Madras. This meeting led to the forming of Indian Library Association (ILA). Later ILA declared 14th November as National Library Day. Since 1968, 14th to 20th November have been celebrated as National Library Week all over India and various programs are organized to let the public know about libraries.  In keeping the tradition in honor, our college library celebrated National Library Week from 21st November to 23 November, 2017.  In connection with the celebrations, various competitions were conducted to students like Scrabble, Sudoko, Essay writing, Quiz, Current Affairs match with images and captures.


18th November 2017: Traditional Day
Fresher Day” in any college is an event which every student eagerly awaits from the time of their admissions. Seniors of Aurora’s PG College Punjagutta has organized “Fresher Day” on 18th November 2017 with the theme of “Traditional Wear”. The students came in traditional attire and participated in various events  like Mr. & Miss. Fresher, Best Attire, Best Personality etc.

25th November 2017: Business Plan Competition

Business Plan is the most important decision making tool which helps in decisions of the start-ups. It covers necessary factors of the business like mission, vision, finance, marketing, HR, Market study etc.

Business Plan Competition was held on 25th November, 2017. 13 teams of MBA I year students competed among themselves with their innovative business ideas. Mr. Vivek Sharma, NEN & Mr. Suhas Sadurla (APT PRO) enacted as the judges for the event.  The faculty coordinators for the event were Ms. Renubala, Dr. Abhilasha Srivastav, Ms. Padma Kiran . The competition was very interactive and knowledgeable as the students got a clear picture of how to start a business and what are the factors involved.

The results of the competition are as follows:

28th November 2017: IT Quiz-TECHBUZZ 2K17

The Department of MCA conducted TechBuzz 2K17, technical competiotion on 28th November, 2017.

The competition included three rounds corporate round, Images round, Multimedia round. Students from MBA & MBA participated in the competition to test their skills and knowledge levels. The winners of the competition are as follows:

  • Winners: L.Sai Keerthana & B. Sairam – Mba I Year –B-sec
  • Runners: G. Rajesh & I. Shanth Kumar, MCA II Year


DECEMBER

8th December 2017: Youth for Anti Corruption Programme

The NSS Club of the college conducted “Youth For Anti Corruption Programme” on 8th December, 2017. Mr. Palnati Rajender , Convenor for the Youth for Anti Corruption Campaign , addressed the students regarding the role of youth in fighting against corruption in the country. Mr. G. N. Satish Kumar, HOD (MBA). Ms. Arpitha , HOD (MCA), Mr. Badra Rao, Convenor, NSS club , Aurora PG College also addressed the students.  A Debate competition was conducted for students and the winners were Pratyusha, Suvartha Rani and Samatha of MCA III Year.


9th December 2017: ANTI CORRUPTION DAY WALK

The students of Aurora's PG College (MBA) participated in the Anti- Corruption Day walk on 9th December, 2017, at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad, an initiative by Adabh Hyderabad for fight against Anti Corruption.


11th December 2017: CMA CAREER AWARENESS PROGRAM

    The institute of Cost Accountants of India visited Aurora's PG College (MBA), Punjagutta to conduct a career awareness program for students on 11 December, 2017.

    The Guests were :

  • Dr. Chandra Shekar Rajanala (Chairman – ICAI)
  • Mr. Raghavendra Reddy (Co-founder of Dakshsh Ebiz Consulting)
  • Mr. Srinivas Prasad (Advisor – ERP, NMDC Ltd.)

The program enlightened the students about various courses and subjects offered by CMA. The CMA provided awareness about Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting and complete manufacturing process in the Industry. The guests told the students about the importance of CMA course, how it helps the economy at local, national and global level. The session was very interactive and students came up with their views and queries to the guests which were answered in the best possible way.


JANUARY

10th January, 2018: J-Gate (E Journal Gateway) Presentation

Presentation for faculty on J Gate (E-Journal Gateway) was conducted on 10th January, 2018. Faculty was given insights on how to use J-Gate for research purpose and information search.


22nd January 2018: Vasant Panchami-Founder’s Day

Vasanth Panchami marks the inception of Aurora Group of Institution and is celebrated
as Founder’s Day every year. The idol of Saraswathi was worshipped, Bhajans were sung and Puja was conducted. In his speech the Director, Mr. B. Mohan Kumar talked about the significance of Vasanth Panchami and went about to speak of the evolution of Aurora Group of Institutions and the practice of upholding our Indian culture which is the hallmark of Aurora.


26th January 2018: Republic Day

The 69th Republic Day was celebrated all over the nation on 26th January 2018. The Tiranga was hoisted by the Director of the college, followed by speeches. The teaching fraternity of the college expressed their pride to be a part of nation building and the development of youth that represent the future of the country. They also said that they will relentlessly strive to mould future citizens of the country.


FEBRUARY

4th Feb, 2018: Yashodha Cancer Awareness 5K run

Aurora is always in the fore front to promote healthy note of social responsibility to bring in awareness program and to educate the causes and remedies to cancer. We were a part of 5 K run to join the fight against the cancer at Saroornagar Nagar Stadium, L B Nagar. The students of the college under the leadership of Mr. R. Bhadra Rao, Asociate Professor have voluntarily participated in the program and educating their college mates the next day.

A Personality Development Seminar was organized in the college on 20 February, 2018 by Swamy Chathurvedi on how to face various aspects of life and be a winner. Both the faculty and students attended the seminar.

21st February 2018: Project Orientation Program

  • As per Osmania University norms, the MBA II semester students need to undergo a summer internship for 6 weeks. In this regard, a project orientation session was conducted for students of MBA II semester on 21st February, to make them aware of the various specializations and their relative job opportunities and guidelines for internship.
  • Mrs. T.V. Ratnavali, Mrs. A. Swapna and Mrs. S. Rajyalaxmi acquainted students with respect to marketing, Human Resources and Finance specializations respectively.
  • Mr. G. N. Satish Kumar, HOD, MBA Department also briefed students about summer internships.

24th February 2018: National Seminar


The Entrepreneurship Development Cell “ANTAH PRERNA” has organized a one-day National Seminar on “Entrepreneurship Development: A Framework to Economic Growth”.  The seminar acted as a platform for researchers, academicians, entrepreneurs, professionals and corporate executives to share their knowledge and experiences with budding entrepreneurs and students so that they can enhance their skills and abilities.

  • Prof. A. Vidyadhar Reddy, Director, CMS, NALSAR University was the chief guest,
  • Dr. Geetha Challa, Founder, Sudisha Foundation, mano Jagrithi
  • Mr. Bhanu Prakash Varla, CEO, Graylogic Technologies Private Limited, Beenfield Consulting Private Limited were among the distinguished and eminent guests.

As many as 110 papers from the twin Telugu States, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, including 6 papers from foreign countries were received. Several delegates came to give presentations that were informative, exhaustive and innovative.


MARCH

8th March 2018: Womens Day Celebrations

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year , as a focal point in the movement for women’s rights. It’s a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

At Aurora Post Graduate College, Punjagutta, women’s day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students portrayed their talents and thoughts on this occasion. Enthusiastic staff contributed the highlights of women achievement.


22nd March 2018: NSS Activity

As a part of Social Responsibility, the management and students of Aurora's PG College (MBA), Punjagutta donated blankets, rice and groceries for Homeless on 22nd March 2018 at Grace Welfare Society, Malkajigiri, Hyderabad. Mr. R. Bhadra Rao, Chief Officer, NSS Wing, Aurora's PG College (MBA), Punjagutta coordinated the activity.Faculty members Mr. Ramprasad, Mrs. Rajya Laxmi, Mrs. Sravani Chari and Students from MBA I & II Year participated in the activity.


APRIL

3rd & 4th April 2018

The Aurora P.G. College Punjagutta, Hyderabad has organized State level Tech Management Fest named “Abhivyakti” on 3rd and 4th April 2018. Nearly 3,000 students from colleges within and around Hyderabad have participated in this fest.

The fest started off with inauguration ceremony in the presence of designated guests. The guest for the inaugurations were :

  • Chief Guest - Prof. R. NageswarRao (Dean, Faculty of Management, OU)
  • Distinguished Guest - Dr. Anil K Saxena (Prof. SVP National Police Academy)
  • Eminent Guest - Sri. Vijay Vedantam (Director-Sales and Business Development)
  • Humint Global Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Special Guest- Sri.Chaitanya Krishna Chintaluri (Founder & CEO- IKON)

The valedictory function was graced by Ananda Krishna Nandu (Film Actor), Pooja Ramachandran (Film Actress) and SowmyaVenugopal (Film Actress)
Sitamahalakshmi- (TV Actress), Sunny Austin- (Choreographer), Madhu Poona- (Music Director), Satish Sharma-(Film Director), Kantri Guys- (You Tubers), Fun Bucket- (You Tubers), Viva- Team- (You Tubers)

These two days of Fest had given opportunities to students to showcase their hidden talents by participating in 26 events which included both Management and Cultural activities. These events were divided into three groups:- sports cultural and formal. 

The Management Fest was sponsored by various sponsors. They were De Café, Lassi Shop, Planet Finance, Rahul Publication, Atlas Cycle, AJ Consultancy (Himayatnagar), SantoshDhaba, Swisston Icecream, F 55 Gym
Desi Pizza, Times Of India, NRB Hair & Beauty, Pacific and Bailey
Invitations to different colleges went through the ‘Flash Mob’ performed by selected students. This method was appreciated by various colleges and alsogave a good impression which attracted their students. The students performed on many songs and showcased their talent by dancing and became the center of attraction.


7th April 2018: Alumni Meet

The Annual Alumni Meet of the College was organized on 7th April 2018 in which as many as 150 alumni of the college came and shared their views on careers, placements and gave suggestions to the existing students on cracking interviews.  Alumnus shared information about their journey from college to corporate. The Coordinator of the Meet, Ms. Anjali welcomed the gathering and the Director, Mr. Mohan Kumar stated that he felt happy to see such a vast gathering that came back to their Alma Mater to be together once again.  The Director, Mr. B. Mohan Kumar, HOD-MBA, Mr. G.N. Satish Kumar  released the Alumni Newsletter- AINA that comprised of reminiscences by alumni members about their current employment, the college, faculty members and their college life and latest articles about college and corporate life.


MAY

2nd May 2018: Conclusion of Workshop on Java Application Development

The Department of Computer Applications organized a 7 day workshop on Java Application Development from 23th April to 1st May in which experts from Industry and Academia trained the students both in theory and practicals for giving them a better competitive advantage.

I am happy to inform that the college has positioned itself as “desirable campus to study professional courses.”  I would personally like to thank Shri N. Raja Babu, Chairman-Aurora Consortium; Dr. Ramesh B. Nimmatoori, Secretary-Aurora Consortium; and the management of Aurora's PG College (MBA), Punjagutta for their support and freedom with the help of which we are able to nurture innovative thoughts and carry on our day to day activities.

We owe a deep sense of gratitude to Dr. Raghu Prabhakar for his relentless pursuit in securing placements and internships for our college in this academic year.  His dedication, sincerity and admirable work ethic are really worth following.  Special thanks are also due to Mr. V. Raghavendra, Placement Coordinator of the college for the excellent initiative he has taken during placements.

The college is well equipped with State of Art infrastructure, well stocked library, well furnished computer labs and classrooms.  I thank the HODs-MBA, Mr. G. N. Satish Kumar and HOD-MCA, Mrs. P. Arpita for all the support they have extended. 

I profusely thank the coordinators of NSS, Mr. R. Bhadra Rao and Mr. P. Ram Prasad for instilling the spirit of social responsibility among the students.

A special thanks to the ED Cell whose pillars are Ms. Renu Bala, Mrs. Padma Kiran and Dr. Abhilasha Srivastava for nurturing the cell and encouraging the students to become self sufficient.

The Program Coordinator of State Level Technical Management Fest, Dr. Rajavardhan Reddy deserves a special thanks for the successful organization of the event.

I thank the NAAC team of faculty members and their coordinator, Mrs. T.V. Ratnavali for the continuous effort to improve the quality of academics to facilitate refreshing learning experiences for the students

I also sincerely thank all the faculty members for their constant support in all activities of the college.  The immense gamut of co-curricular and extra curricular activities would never have been so successful if not for their tremendous positive attitude and unabated enthusiasm.
